Frequently Asked Questions

I'M NEW TO BULK AND REFILL SHOPPING, WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

Welcome to the wonderful world of refills! We find the process of refilling to be totally therapeutic and we want it to be that way for you as well.

You are always more than welcome to bring your own bottles and jars in to fill up, in fact we encourage it! Not only does this help cut down on your waste, it's also a great excuse to invest in some super cute bottles and jars! If you don't have your own containers or simply forget to bring them with you, never fear. You can always purchase them at the shop (we have glass jars, pump and spray bottles in various sizes, and 8 oz aluminum pump and spray bottles), or you can simply grab a container from our bottle bank. Our bottle bank is a collection of donated containers that are always free to our customers; we always take donations if you have good quality containers that you aren't using. Take a peek at the following section "How Do I Donate to the Bottle Bank" for more info on what containers we accept.

Refilling is really super simple.

1. Tare your container. There is a scale and iPad located directly inside the front door. Simply place your container on the scale, grab one of the little wooden RFID tags and place it on the camera of the iPad. This will store your container tare weight with the tag (Note: If you don't tare your container, you'll end up paying for both the weight of your product AND your container... which is a total bummer).

If you're purchasing a container from the shop or using our bottle bank, you can skip this step as we have the tare weights stored in our computer or written on the bottom of the bottle bank containers.

2. Fill up with your favorite products. This is the fun part! Shop around and select the cleaning or personal care bulk products that best fit your needs. Fill up your containers with as much or a little product as you want, you'll only pay for what you put into your container. This is a great way to trial products before you commit to a full bottle.

3. Bring your containers to the counter to pay. Simply bring your containers with the RFID tag and tell the cashier what product you put into what container. We'll do the rest! Be sure to get a Refill Rewards punch card started so you can earn points as you shop.

WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

First off, we want to thank you for shopping with us. Your support and patronage means the world to us. We want you to be totally happy with your purchases and offer the following return and exchange policy.

Items that are unopened and unused may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase with a receipt or order number. We will refund the amount using the original form of payment. If you do not have your original receipt, you may return your items for store credit in the form of a gift card. Customers will be responsible for shipping any items that are not returned in-store. Returned items must be received before a refund or exchange can take place.

We cannot offer refunds or exchanges on goods that have been damaged more than 30 days after purchase, please have your receipt or order number  available to verify purchase date. Damaged items must be present in order for us to issue an exchange or a refund.

We cannot accept returns or exchanges on makeup, oral hygiene products (toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.), or bulk items unless they are damaged. All such sales are considered final.

If you have concerns that are not addressed by the above policy, please contact us via email at hello@renmarketmncom and we will do our best to accommodate you.

HOW DO I DONATE TO YOUR BOTTLE BANK?

Thanks for being willing to help us keep our bottle bank stocked! We accept good quality jars and bottles that you might otherwise recycle. We do have a few rules about what kinds of containers we accept.

Rule 1: We will only accept CLEAN bottles and jars that don't smell too strongly of food (we're lookin' at you garlic and pickles). One way to remove smells from your jars is to place them out in direct sunlight for a few days. Please ensure that there is no food or oily residue remaining on any of your containers.

Rule 2: We will only accept containers that have had their LABELS AND ALL ASSOCIATED STICKY RESIDUE REMOVED. A great way to remove sticky gunk is to apply a citrus essential oil (orange or lemon) to the residue and let sit for a little while. Follow by washing the outside of the container with straight soap, castile soap works great here.

Rule 3: Please only donate containers that are sturdy and have lids. We will definitely accept plastic containers (because reusing plastic is WAY better than trying to recycle it) however we cannot accept flimsy plastic such as yogurt and sour containers. We also cannot accept dropper bottles that have had oil based products in them. It's not possible for us to completely clean them and they tend to leave an oily residue in our sanitizing bath.

WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover), Apple Pay, Google Pay and cash.

We do not accept personal checks.

I'M A MAKER AND I HAVE A PRODUCT I'D LIKE YOU TO STOCK. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

We love learning about and stocking great eco-friendly and low waste brands! If you have a product you think we would love, please send us an email at hello@renmarketmn.com and tell us all about it. Please note that we don't always have the time to reply to all inquiries. We will follow up with you as soon as possible if we feel you have a product that will fit our store and customers.

Pro Tip: We typically give preference to brands that supply us with samples to test out. We prefer to be able to wholeheartedly recommend the brands that we carry, being able to demo products prior to ordering enables us to move forward with the wholesale process quickly and with confidence.
